From the Mediterranean to the CaribbeanIn Essen, Germany, hundreds of thousands of player pushed pawns, slapped cards and rolled dice. It would seem that the latest offering from Laget and Cathala fit right in.
For those who have not followed this developing story, here's a quick summary:
- Serge Laget and Bruno Cathala found themselves with time on their hands, and decided to once again make a game together.
- Serge Laget wanted to rework the trade phase from Mare Nostrum, a phase that, in the original game, had to be reduced, because it wound up being a game within a game (and Mare Nostrum was already enough game that it didn't need more).
- Together, the two designers work on this segment of the game, adding new mechanics and refining old ones.
- And then Asmodee.
- And now the game is on sale.
- And that is all.
Mundus Novus is a card game, not a big box
Mundus Novus is smaller than Mare Nostrum, smaller but still smart enough to offer new experiences that will delight those players who know the original.
You will try to cover yourselves with wealth and glory as you manage trade between the old world and the new. Card combinations, strategies and tactics, beautiful illustrations and more are just waiting to be discovered.
